Talk about relevant. We've snagged the reigning king of political caricature and satiric illustration -- and he'll speak to us less than a month before the most hotly contested, polarizing presidential election in memory. Brodner's brutally brilliant work has appeared in every magazine that matters, and has ruffled the feathers of nearly everyone who's anyone. Bring it. stevebrodner.com

Sex: It's not just for advertising anymore. Just ask Joshua Berger of Plazm Design, whose rubber-bound tome, XXX: The Power of Sex in Contemporary Design, explores how designers of all stripes use sex to get their point across.
Don't let XXX fool you; Berger and his cohorts have more than one thing on their minds. They're a multidisciplinary design firm, much-lauded magazine, font foundry, and publishing house. Their most recent book is the decidedly unerotic 100 Habits of Highly Successful Designers. (At least we're assuming that's unerotic.)
Judging from Berger's a/v requests (laptop projector, internet connection, VHS video, slide projector, and Etch-a-Sketch), we're in for a far-ranging, multimedia hootenanny. And he's already shipped us a boatload of swag, including XXX of course, to give away to a few lucky DM members at the event.

Our annual job workshop is always a popular event, and this promises to be the best one yet. The focus is on career paths, from direct to circuitous, traditional to outrageous. You'll hear successful creatives discuss the varied routes that can lead to success.
California artist Tim Biskup makes cool shit. Illustration, graphic design, animation, painting, toy & clothing design ó the multi-talented design school dropout (Otis/Parsons, no less) applies his sci-fi/ theme park/ punk rock/ skate punk/ underground comic aesthetic to a multitude of projects and consumer goods. Like we said, cool shit. timbiskup.com
Remember these guys? Met in Madison, followed their dream to the big city, started a business, found fame and fortune, became the hot ticket on the design conference circuit - and now they're coming to us as part of their court-ordered community service. Aw yeah, this event should have a nice Behind the Music feel to it. aestheticapparatus.com
